Remnants
VideoDuration: 16:03 minutes Format: 16/9 MP4
Like the relationship, bodies dialogue with each other. They intertwine, grasp each other or ignore each other. Sometimes, an encounter generates a profound transformation, leaving an insistent trace on the emptiness and the presence it leaves. This opposition takes the form of an imprint, visible here. Beyond the moment, there is what remains.

Participatory performance
“What remains” was tested for the first time at Motoco Mulhouse in a small group, without an audience, with a group of amateurs. We then offered it in the courtyard of the Huppe cider factory in Soultzmatt 68 as part of the Open Workshops in May 2024. On this occasion, the public was invited to participate. The protocol is simple: “presences” or “performing bodies” not immediately identifiable, gradually take their place within the “playing area”. Movements, crossings, shapes, looks. We meet, we hug. One slips away, escapes. The other remains. The memory trace of the relationship is outlined in the emptiness of the frozen body. It comes back to life and welcomes or moves away. The spectator becomes an actor and the bodies then intermingle, forget themselves, exist

“Remnants” was tested for the first time at Motoco Mulhouse with a small group of amateurs, without an audience. We then presented it in the courtyard of the Huppe cider factory in Soultzmatt 68 as part of the regional Open Studio event in May 2024. On this occasion, the public was invited to participate. The protocol is simple: “presences” or “performing bodies,” not immediately obvious, gradually find their place within the “play area.” Movements, crossings, shapes, exchanged looks. We meet, we hug. One slips away, escapes. The other stays. The memory trace of the relationship is delineated in the empty space which remains. The body comes back to life and welcomes or moves away. The spectators become actors, and the bodies exist, then intermingle, are forgotten.
